The Great Header Debate!
Ok, guys. I've had two responses for the change in my header. So far, both responses liked the old picture (seen above). Does anyone like the new header? Or did you see the one I posted the other day?
I made this one...it was up for a few minutes but I don't think it was up for very long and no one saw it, I don't think. And of course, we have the current one. So, let me know your thoughts. I was getting slightly bored with the old header, but you guys are reading this and having to look at the artwork, so tell me your preference! I want to know!
Comment away!

Gator Goes Hollywood
As I write this, a film crew for the new HBO series "Treme" is downstairs filming. I think the alligator is excited. He informed me that he brushed his teeth extra well for his closeup!
I hadn't heard about "Treme" prior to receiving notice that the film crew would be here today. So, I went to the HBO website and checked it out. All I can say is "Oy!". This city really does have my heart and soul. If you have HBO, watch this show. Then you can have a little piece of NOLA in your heart, too!
Happy Monday, y'all. I think I'm going to try and sneak a few more pictures of those movie folks.

Spring BlogFest '10
In an attempt to be more connected to fellow bloggers, I spent my Friday night checking out really fun, happy, and energetic blogs. One of the blogs I came across was Me vs. College. Okay, so here's the scoop: Jon is a college student who lives in Ohio with his gammy. HIS GAMMY! LOVES IT! Anyway, he writes really funny stuff and I think you should check him out.
Also, he has challenged fellow bloggers to participate in a Spring Blogfest. That's right. This here is a challenge, darlings.
Here are the official rules according to Jon (since this is his challenge):
I'm taking the challenge. You should, too!
And check out Me vs. College. He's a "Prank Ninja", after all!

Also, he has challenged fellow bloggers to participate in a Spring Blogfest. That's right. This here is a challenge, darlings.
Here are the official rules according to Jon (since this is his challenge):
- During the months of March, April and May you must post at least one entry every other day.
- It doesn't matter how you blog or what you blog about, all that matters is that you blog.
- Branch out. Don't just post the same old entries over and over. This is a challenge, after all, so challenge yourself! Try new styles! See what happens!
- Try to find at least one new blog to follow. Meet other bloggers. Network with them. Make new friends!
- Feel free to leave a comment letting me know you're participating! I would love to see what you're up to!
- I made a button especially for the challenge, and you can find it in my sidebar. You certainly don't have to add it to you site, but it would definitely earn you brownie points.
I'm taking the challenge. You should, too!
And check out Me vs. College. He's a "Prank Ninja", after all!

Fish Friday!
The fishes on Fish TV! have been dealing with a lot of changes this week. New additions to the fish family and the threat of attacks by Catzilla have caused the members of fish village to behave quite nervously.
First, the arrival of General Vlad Tepes was indeed necessary for the continued cleanliness and overall order of the tank. As you are aware, Dr. Gonzo was hired to work on those pesky algae and fish behavioral problems, but his untimely demise forced the Fish Board to contact his cousin, General Vlad, to take over Dr. Gonzo's responsibilities.Upon hearing about the demise of his cousin Dr. Gonzo, General Vlad enthusiastically agreed that Fish Village could use a new tank cleaner and "general" guard of the situations at hand. The Fish Board is glad to have you, General Vlad! So far, you are doing an excellent job!
Fish Village has also acquired a resident ballet company. The addition of five neon tetras to the village inspired the current tetras to form their own company, The Bolshoi. Excited to have ten members, The Bolshoi have been jete'-ing and pirouette-ing around the tank with gusto!
Bert and Ernie (rainbow fish), being the wheelers and dealers that they are, were upset with the addition of a resident ballet company to Fish Village. Not to be outdone by the flashy Bolshoi, they decided to recruit the cherry barbs for a singing group. They insisted on an additional three cherry barbs to form a fishy band. They named them the Chee Wees. Bernice, the smallest Chee Wee cherry barb has been in a bit of a funk since being forced into musical slavery. We can only hope that Bernice gets with the program - Bert and Ernie can be quite demanding.
All the commotion in Fish Village awakened Catzilla from her slumber. She was not pleased that the fishes were interrupting her beauty sleep. Catzilla requires at least 20 hours of sleep a day, after all!"WHO IS DISTURBING ME! ROARRRRRR (purrrr)!!!!" Catzilla was NOT happy.
Sensing the oncoming attack by Catzilla, The Captain sounded the fishy alarm. "Watch out (bubble, bubble) fishes! Catzilla is on her way and we MUST (bubble, bubble) be careful!", shouted The Captain. "HIDE!"
"Who disturbed my slumber??", shouted Catzilla. "Was it YOU, Captain Vince Lombardi Trophy, III?"The members of Fish Village was scrambling to hide! Luckily, the Fish Board had acquired an additional rock and live plant for Fish Village, therefore enabling the inhabitants to hide safely away from the grips of Catzilla.
The Captain poked his head out and whispered to General Vlad, "I think this is a situation (bubble, bubble) that is better handled by a General, not a (bubble, bubble) Captain! You talk to her!"
Realizing that Fish Village was in danger, the Fish Board distracted Catzilla with kibble and a promise of shrimp. Catzilla demanded the kibble be delivered immediately and forced the Fish Board to sign a contract that the shrimp would be delivered within the week. She then ate most of the kibble and yawned. It was time for Catzilla to return to her beauty sleep.
Fish Village is safe, once again! But can they continue thwarting the attacks of Catzilla? Will the Chee Wees get a record deal? Will Bernice survive the constant nagging of Bert and Ernie?
Tune in next Friday to Fish TV! and find out!
Happy Fish Friday!

Planting the Seeds of Change

I'm being true to my word. I have started my garden and now I'm asking myself, "How does MY garden grow?" We are trying this little experiment from seeds. Seeds, y'all! In the past, it has always been easier to go to the nursery and buy the plants already partially grown, but planting from seeds enables me to have more of a garden.
Therefore, we are trying our little experiment from seeds. Hopefully they turn to into seedlings and then grow bigger and bigger into full blown plants!
Currently, our baby seeds are growing in a seed starter greenhouse kit. It's sitting on the desk next to me, incubating our baby seeds!
I hereby state this 18th day of March the beginning of our GREAT SEED WATCH! I'll keep you posted! Think GROW!
Happy Thursday - hope you all didn't drink TOO much green beer yesterday!
xoxo
